Outreach Committee

Committee Charges:

  • Distribute news releases regarding newsworthy society events, to include the election of new officers
  • Contact newspapers/TV stations whenever a newsworthy event is anticipated
  • Watch for upcoming public events in which the society might use its information booth
  • Determine the feasibility and cost of society advertising on billboards, radio, and TV
  • Explore new subjects for a future calendar or similar project
  • Review current WSLS Publications including books and brochures and make recommendations for additional publications
  • Assist the Executive Director in the planning and implementation of continuing education seminars presented by WSLS.
  • Review and make recommendations for content updates to the WSLS web-site
  • Assist and coordinate with the Chapters in public relation opportunities as they relate to National Surveyors Week (March 18-24th, 2012).
  • Prepare a detailed Outreach and Public Relations Plan that conforms with the needs identified by the 2012 Strategic Plan
