    Job Description: As a professional land surveyor you will provide technical knowledge and oversight on a multitude of projects for public and private sector clients. You will be responsible for ensuring projects follow applicable laws, standards, ordinances, and contract requirements. You will be responsible for preparation of project deliverables such as plats, maps, reports, electronic AutoCAD drawings, etc. You may also assist with written proposals and project fee estimates.

    Skill Requirements: This person should have excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. A fundamental understanding of land surveying laws, practices, technologies and how they are applied to an assortment of projects is required. You should have a moderate to advanced understanding of some of the following programs: Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, GPS Processing Software, ESRI, and Carlson Survey software. Experience performing Horizontal and Vertical Control, Topographic, Right of Way, Boundary, Construction Layout, and Hydrographic surveys prefeed. The ability to mentor junior staff to obtain the skills required to also become a Licensed Land Surveyor is a plus. This position would require the ability to perform both office and field survey functions. A willingness to perform your duties at a remote location or office on large scale projects for extended periods of time occasionally would also be desired.

    Experience Requirement: 5+ years
    Professional Land Surveying License Required: Yes, with ability to obtain an AK PLS in 24 months is preferred.
    Education Requirement: Minimum 2 year degree in surveying, engineering, or related field.
    Valid Driver’s License Required: Yes
    Location: Anchorage or Fairbanks, Alaska
